1. The text and images you clean
Free Text Cleaner runs 100% locally in your browser using client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly (including on-device OCR for images). The content you paste, type, or drop into the tool is never uploaded to our servers, never stored in any database, and never shared with third parties. When you close or reload the tab, it is gone — unless your own browser keeps it in local history or cache.
2. Local storage on your device
To remember your preferences (checkbox choices, casing options, custom find-and-replace rules, theme), the tool saves settings in your browser'slocal storage on your own device. This data never leaves your computer and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings. We cannot access it.
3. Information we may receive
- Contact messages: if you email us or use the contact page, we receive whatever name, email address, and message content you choose to send — used only to reply to you.
- Basic server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical data (e.g. IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps) for security and reliability. These logs are not linked to the text you clean, because that text never reaches our servers.
4. Cookies and analytics
We do not use advertising cookies and do not track the content you clean. If we enable privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics in the future (e.g. page views), this policy will be updated to describe exactly what is collected. Local-storage preferences described above are not cookies and are not sent anywhere.
5. Third-party services
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and may be served through a standard hosting/CDN provider. Those providers process basic technical data (such as your IP address) as needed to deliver the site, under their own privacy policies. No cleaning content is sent to them by this tool.
6. Children
Free Text Cleaner is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has contacted us with personal data, please reach out via thecontact page and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information you have shared with us (such as a contact email). To exercise these rights, contact us via thecontact page. Because cleaning content never reaches us, there is nothing for us to access or delete in that regard.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
